The picture I will show you here is actually a priceless treasure of magic tradition. It is a map. It won’t be worth much if you don't cultivate it, but if you step onto this path of vertical evolution, you will be working with it for countless years to come. This is something Magi memorized and passed through reincarnations.
What is spiritual development?
Spiritual development is the development of the spirit (monad).
What is destiny?
Destiny is a goal of a spirit towards ongoing reincarnation. You can compare the world with the School for the spirits, and each incarnation is a new lesson in that school. Despite spirit being one and the same, each lesson could be different: one life you could be studying arts, another mathematics, another physics, and so on. In each life, you would build different qualities and skills that lead to a variety of different personalities and identities.
People in the first 3 castes are primarily motivated by societal goals; some want wealth, some want power, some want love or happiness. Society is about competition, so an Ego wants to be or look better than others inside a closed jar; it does not really want to escape the jar itself or realize the truth.
Things are quite a lot different for the 4th caste and above; at this level, the truth seeker realizes himself and the nature of the world. He realizes that this is the school and that the only meaningful, truly valuable things you can gain and keep here are experience and spiritual growth.
The upward traction, the motivation to overcome inertia, laziness, and inability to change comes from two possible sources.
18A — the call from within, the signal of the monad passes from above to down below and reaches the character; the character feels that there is something beyond this world he is playing in, and he sets out to explore the Path.
20A — the drive from the past, previous incarnations awaken inside the mental field and bring the person towards spiritual development, towards something that can help them evolve and awaken once more.
This also means that it is impossible to bring someone upward by force. We can grant opportunity, knowledge, practices, and transmissions necessary to walk the path, but we cannot force it.
There are usually a lot of people coming for power, happiness, love, or wealth, and they do not last unless that motivation changes.
The spirit, the monad, cannot gain self-awareness or experience; that is the most fundamental reason it must begin the process of reincarnation. Think of a seed that has to land in proper conditions to sprout and grow. An inactivated seed can spend millennia without getting anywhere. As it sprouts into the mundane world, it follows the path of life and experiences, developing all kinds of attachments, karma, and persistent identities. As spirit descends into this reality, it forgets itself.
Spiritual development schools and practices are the ones that bring you on the way upwards towards your spiritual nature. For the vast majority of spirits reincarnating in our reality, they are not aware of themselves; they are stuck playing the role of some character, lost in the hazy dream matrix, chasing happiness, love, attachments, addictions, cravings, and joy. Spirits that are becoming aware of self are called awakened beings, Mahatmas (great souls), or Mage — Magus (Masters of Magic Tradition).
The reincarnation process, which begins with our soul learning to possess and handle the physical body in the physical realm and then progresses upwards, is well described in the chapter on AP and progression in cultivation. I will repeat that Spirit gains experience gradually, step by step, from the lowest level, and progresses upwards when the previous level is fully filled. AP is like the writing head of the soul; it exists at maximum energy and records experience only at that level.
With magic practices, you learn to move your AP and gain new experiences in new positions.
You cannot intellectualize this path, like you cannot sustain your body on imaginary pancakes.
What I have observed over the years with many self-initiates and scamgong teachers is that they are exercising their thought processes.
It does not really work that way.
You need a teacher to show you things in the spiritual realm. Then you need to work yourself to gain and verify experiences; only then will progress become possible.
Reading a book and memorizing information does not make you smarter or grow your soul; accepting certain knowledge is not the same as gaining direct experience. The ability to acquire direct experience is the genuine marker of progress.
Realistically, you can only gain experience by working with practices at your AP level. That is also why so many people spend decades or even lifetimes without ever experiencing the spiritual world, astral travel, and many other things. Willpower, discipline, daily training, proper guidance, teacher support, non-verbal transmission, and Magic Egregore are all valuable for moving AP upward and gaining new experience at a new level.
Even when moving AP upwards, it is more of a gradual process, working with practices slightly above your general position. The proper system is necessary to allow you to make a step-by-step progression without overload or breaking down the student. Attempts at working with practices far above your AP position would bring no benefit. That is also where the need to build proper foundations comes in.
A lot of work is being done with imperfections, cravings, clinging, ego, and attachments. As soon as you resolve what holds you down, it will stop holding you back, and your AP will rise naturally, opening new perspectives and a broader stage for development.
Our vision of a Magus is that of a perfect human being as represented by Sefira Tifereth. Beyond buddhahood, free from attachments, delusions, cravings, addictions, free from all karma.
At the start, humans are usually growing within religions; every religion contains qualities and wisdom that can help human consciousness begin to develop initial self-awareness.
These powers of the mortal world are described with 22A, 21A, and 19A.
Every human has an Arcana with which they interact; that interaction can be subtle. You may not be aware that it is happening; you may interact with it at 0.001% force, just barely touching it. But every human consciousness exists within planetary consciousness.
Whether you believe in it or not, you cannot avoid Arcanas. Karma will generate anyway; addictions, attachments, cravings, connections form; your body (vessel) is a living organism that functions by all the laws of 17A. The cycle of death and rebirth will work; dreaming is also a mechanism of the Sefiroth Tree.
Daoists would start their path at 18A, which requires an existing manipura level, usually built up through martial arts, discipline, training, a lot of work on willpower, and extensive practice with energy and cultivation. Once they reach anahata, which is extremely rare; probably few out of a million Daoist practitioners get there. They get into 17A, and these are already advanced masters that have extrasensory perception and certain powers. If they work through 17A for many decades, they will eventually go into 14A and also work through their Karma in 16A. But mainly, Daoists would go through 14A, which can be described as a form of transformation or internal alchemy. But doing these practices at AP manipura would be a fruitless endeavor. It is like a beginner in fitness training trying to lift 300 kg, and then do a split. Now, this is no longer about learning a secret technique; you need to be at a certain level to practice these methods effectively.
Christianity is fuelled with 21A, and contains qualities of 21A. Sometimes religions change, but the overall concepts and qualities remain the same. A new dominant religion is occupying the energy channel that feeds millions of souls with qualities and energy.
But if we talk about saints, they are no longer in 21A; they are moving from 21A, which runs from Muladhara to the Low Anahata level. In Christianity, they would most likely take the right (water) path of the tree through 16A, and after clearing all karma, they would be working in 12A.
The saints at the level of 12A would not be a joke; such people could walk by stepping on air and miraculously heal deadly ailments. And 12A, as you can see on the map (picture above), is the level of AP between Vishudha and Ajna.
Serafim Sarovsky and Sergiy Radonejskiy would be examples of such saints.
Adepts in the Magic tradition work with all Arcanas; we gradually, in a systematic approach, build qualities within ourselves that allow us to walk further and further on the path. There are special principles for working directly and effectively with arcanas' qualities, shared only within the Tradition and through non-verbal transmission from master to student.
Arcanas are learned after the practitioner has developed the necessary skills in areas such as visualization, energy work, meditation, and energy bodies.
Disciples start their path from 22A, the easiest arcana to learn and master.
Arcanas from 22A to 18A are building and completing the Manipura level of development.
Once you reach a level of AP Anahata and 17A, you become an official Adept in the magic tradition. Can become a member of a Magic Order.
Magic Path is a process of intense growth from 17A to 9A.
9A is the second borderline of the Sefiroth Tree.
If 17A is a borderline between the Mundane World and the Magic World.
Then 9A is a borderline between the Magic World and the God Realm.
Beings above 9A no longer have to incarnate into the lower world and continue their development in the upper realms. This is not the end of the path.
In this systematic approach, we are building a complete framework that integrates all existing egregores and practices.
